Knitted Christmas Stockings

I had fun making these up as I went along. I gave them deep cuffs with a hanging loop for extra strength and made it wide for story books and DVDs plus all those other extra special surprises for Xmas Day!

I knitted in the round with DPNs and a circular needle and carried the yarns across for the Intarsia method. I did a few designs on some squared paper. Then, as I knitted, I came up with alterations and additions.
Sequins, ribbon and bells were also added which catch the light in some places on the photos, but not others…

I loved using the combinations of pastel greens and pinks with the cream background as my niece, Evie, is a real girlie girl.

So have you made any Christmas Stocking this year or any year?

Jumpers and socks

I've been busy with life.
Finishing a jumper

and starting my first ever sock project.

It was my knitting new year's resolution to learn how to knit socks and make a pair. Since then I have made two pairs.

How about you?

Crochet Cat

I decided to do a crochet project and came across a cute cat pattern Jiji the Cat by Anne Gee White

You can find the details of how I tackled this project here on my Ravelry page.

I only wished I'd had some darker filling material, so it didn't show through the stitches so much.
Thankfully there were no complicated charts to follow!
I made the ears slightly different to those on the pattern and may do another one with smaller ears at some stage.

Do you crochet?

How easy do you find following charts?
